PESHAWAR (Manend News) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi said here on Tuesday that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) exhausted all available constitutional and legal avenues in pursuit of its rights.
He said that PTI sought judicial relief through every available forum. He alleged that the party was denied justice. He said that both PTI and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa continued to face discriminatory treatment at federal level.
The chief minister was addressing a ceremony at Shahi Bagh to inaugurate upgradation of 34 existing public parks under Peshawar Revitalisation Plan. The project will cost Rs1 billion to transform the provincial capital into a modern, resilient and liveable city through sustained investments in urban infrastructure, public spaces and essential services.
He said that provincial government remained committed to constitutional governance, democratic values, rule of law and protection of citizens’ democratic rights. He stated that PTI pursued all available constitutional and legal avenues in seeking justice. He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to continue its political struggle within the framework of the Constitution and law.

Mr Afridi said that neither he nor his party would be deterred by intimidation, coercion or use of force. He maintained that attempts to weaken the resolve of PTI workers through arrests or other coercive measures would not succeed. He added that workers remained steadfast in their support for PTI founding chairman Imran Khan and would continue to stand by his vision.
He stated that PTI workers could neither be suppressed through force nor persuaded through personal inducements. He said that their political commitment was rooted in principle rather than expediency.
The chief minister said that past attempts to suppress protest of people and dissent through coercive measures had failed. He maintained that political and national challenges could not be resolved through use of force but required adherence to the Constitution, rule of law and restoration of public trust.
He also called for a review of policies relating to Balochistan, Kashmir and other parts of the country, arguing that lasting solutions depended on respect for public opinion, meaningful political dialogue and constitutional processes rather than coercive approaches.
Calling for broad public participation, the chief minister invited people to gather in large numbers at Peshawar Toll Plaza on August 5. He said that the event would not be held solely in the interest of an individual or a political party but in support of Pakistan, constitutional governance, democracy, fundamental rights and future of coming generations. He urged people to come forward in defence of their rights, their future and country’s democratic development.
Describing the occasion as a pivotal stage in the party’s political movement, he stated: “August 5 is the semi-final, and we must win it at all costs.” He announced that the party would unveil its next course of political action on that day, describing it as a decisive phase in the movement from which “there will be no turning back.”
The chief minister said that PTI remained committed to pursuing its political objectives through peaceful, constitutional and legal means and would continue its struggle within the framework of the Constitution and the law.
He said that Peshawar Revitalisation Plan reflected the provincial government’s long-term vision for inclusive urban development. He said that the project would be implemented in accordance with established timelines.
The park upgradation programme, with a total estimated cost of Rs1 billion, covered all 34 existing public parks across Peshawar. Construction and rehabilitation activities have commenced simultaneously at all sites. To facilitate efficient implementation and timely completion, the project has been divided into five execution packages encompassing landscape improvement, recreational facilities, public amenities and enhanced accessibility.
The chief minister said that the provincial government was currently implementing development initiatives worth approximately Rs200 billion aimed at improving urban infrastructure, transport connectivity and public services throughout Peshawar.
He said that Urban Train Project was included in Annual Development Programme. He said that work on the project would commence in the near future to provide people with a modern, efficient and sustainable public transport system. He stated that, in response to increasing traffic demand and urban expansion, the proposed Outer Ring Road was also included in ADP.
Mr Afridi said that political differences should be resolved through democratic processes, constitutional mechanisms and public confidence rather than coercive measures. He said that durable national stability required respect for public opinion and democratic institutions.
