ISLAMABAD, (daily paklish): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable and the sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people in their struggle for the right to self-determination will ultimately bear fruit.
In his message on Kashmir Black Day, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said Indian forces entered Kashmir on October 27, 1947, and occupied the territory, a situation that has persisted for 79 years. “Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein, and Pakistan and Kashmir are inseparable,” Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said, paying tribute to the Kashmiri people for their continued struggle against Indian occupation.
He said the slogan of late Kashmiri leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani, “We are Pakistanis, Pakistan is ours,” reflected the sentiments of both the Kashmiri and Pakistani people. The JI emir said the people of Kashmir had waged a prolonged struggle to secure their right to self-determination, adding that the sacrifices of those who had laid down their lives for the cause would not go in vain.
He said the people of Pakistan stood firmly with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters in Indian-occupied Kashmir and would continue to support their struggle for freedom and self-determination. The JI leader reaffirmed his resolve that efforts would continue to support the Kashmiri people and bring an end to Indian occupation.
