ISTANBUL/ISLAMABAD, (daily paklish): At the conclusion of the Regional Four (R4) and R4 meeting along with the Foreign Ministers of France, Germany, Italy and the UK, the participating Foreign Ministers called on President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Türkiye in Istanbul.
Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar conveyed greetings from President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir to President Erdoğan.
He thanked President Erdoğan for Türkiye’s warm hospitality and for hosting the meetings. He reaffirmed the special bond between Pakistan and Türkiye and their longstanding ties of friendship and high-level strategic cooperation.
President Erdoğan welcomed the Foreign Ministers and appreciated their deliberations under the R4 and R4+ E4 formats.
The meeting featured candid exchanges of views on regional and global developments and underscored the importance of continued dialogue and diplomatic engagement.
Meanwhile Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar arrived in Islamabad from Istanbul, Türkiye, on Saturday, following a one-day official visit to Türkiye for the R4 and R4+E4 meetings.
Meanwhile Ishaq Dar in a statement issued on X wrote “Thank you #TeamPakistan in Ankara and Istanbul, and to the accompanying delegation, for their support throughout my short but very productive 15 hours visit to Türkiye for the R4 and R4+E4 meetings. I am grateful to Pakistan’s Chargé d’Affaires, Shaiq Ahmed; Consul General in Istanbul, Khawaja Khurram Naeem; Additional Secretary Ambassador Khalil Hashmi; and all the dedicated officers and staff of the Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara and the Consulate General of Pakistan in Istanbul for their hard work that contributed to the smooth conduct and a successful visit, AlhamdoLilah”.
