KARACHI, (daily pakllish): Jamaat-i-Islami is going to hold a massive Gaza March on Shahrah-e-Quaideen at 4:00 pm today (Sunday) to mark three years of what it termed Israeli terrorism and systematic genocide in Palestine despite a ceasefire, with continued bombardment under US backing.
JI Pakistan Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman will deliver a special address on the occasion. The party said all preparations and arrangements for the march had been completed.
JI Karachi chief Monem Zafar Khan on Saturday visited camps set up at Numaish Chowrangi, Sher Shah and main Hub River Road in Baldia Town and distributed handbills among citizens, inviting them to the march.
Speaking on the occasion, Monem Zafar appealed to the people of Karachi to participate in the march along with their families with religious fervour and enthusiasm.
He said the march was aimed at expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine and Hamas and unity of the Ummah against three years of bombing, oppression and genocide of defenceless Palestinians, including women and children.
A large number of men and women from all walks of life – including ulema, lawyers, doctors, engineers, students, traders and labourers – would participate in the march, he said.
“It is our responsibility to shake and compel the rulers of the Muslim world to help the people of Gaza and Palestine. Completely boycott Israeli and American products and inflict economic loss on them,” he said.
He said the people of Karachi should show solidarity against Israeli aggression, the US-Israel nexus, genocide and displacement of Palestinians and conspiracies to occupy the first Qibla. He paid tribute to the people of Karachi for always responding to calls for solidarity with Gaza.
Monem Zafar said hundreds of demonstrations were held outside mosques across Karachi on Friday to express solidarity with Gaza, while more than 100 camps had been set up across the city on Saturday for public mobilisation.
He said three years of Israeli aggression were about to complete, during which over 74,000 Palestinians had been martyred, including more than 18,000 women and 13,000 children, and that Bait-ul-Maqdis, the first Qibla of Muslims, was not safe.
