ISLAMABAD, (daily paklish): Upon his return from New York, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the National Steering Committee on Fuel Subsidy to review implementation of the Prime Minister’s Special Fuel Relief Scheme.
The Committee reviewed progress on registration, token redemption, payments and complaint management. The Committee was informed that to date around 7.6 million registrations have been successfully made and token redemption process has entered the second week. To date 7.71 million tokens have been redeemed.
The DPM/FM appreciated the success of the scheme and highlighted that it was a reflection of the “whole of Government” approach in which the M/o Information Technology & Telecom; M/o Information & Broadcasting; M/o Petroleum; OGRA; State Bank of Pakistan and Provinces have all made concerted efforts.
DPM/FM stressed the need for continued coordination to facilitate beneficiaries and ensure smooth service delivery across the country.
The meeting was attended by the Federal Ministers for IT & Telecommunication and Information & Broadcasting; SAPM Tariq Bajwa; federal and provincial secretaries; and officials from the State Bank of Pakistan, OGRA, NITB and PDA.
